Google Pixel phones have a loyal following in the UK but a smaller second-hand market than iPhone or Samsung. That cuts both ways — demand from buyers is strong, but fewer recyclers actively compete for Pixel devices, which means prices can vary more than you might expect.
Here is what to expect for every major Pixel model and how to make sure you are not leaving money on the table.
The Pixel 9 range launched in late 2024 and still commands strong resale prices. If you are upgrading to the Pixel 10 or switching platform, now is a good time to sell before values drop further.
Pixel 9 Pro XL: £380–£480 excellent condition
Pixel 9 Pro: £320–£420 excellent condition
Pixel 9: £250–£330 excellent condition
Pixel 9a: £200–£270 excellent condition
The Pixel 8 range is the most traded Pixel generation right now. Strong demand from buyers looking for a capable Android at a fair price keeps values reasonable.
Pixel 8 Pro: £250–£340 excellent condition
Pixel 8: £190–£260 excellent condition
Pixel 8a: £160–£220 excellent condition
Values have settled on the Pixel 7 range. Still a popular choice for buyers which keeps recycler demand steady.
Pixel 7 Pro: £150–£220 excellent condition
Pixel 7: £110–£160 excellent condition
Pixel 7a: £120–£170 excellent condition
The Pixel 6 range is approaching end of software support which has pushed values down. Sell sooner rather than later if you have one sitting in a drawer.
Pixel 6 Pro: £80–£130 excellent condition
Pixel 6: £60–£100 excellent condition
Pixel 6a: £70–£110 excellent condition
Below £60 for most models in good condition. Some recyclers no longer accept Pixel 4 and older — check before you send.
Condition is the biggest factor as always. A cracked screen on a Pixel is particularly damaging to value — glass repairs on Pixels are expensive so recyclers price in the cost heavily.
Storage makes a difference on Pro models. A 256GB Pixel 9 Pro is worth noticeably more than a 128GB equivalent.
Battery health matters more on Pixels than most phones. The Pixel 6 range had known battery degradation issues and recyclers are aware of this — they will check and downgrade if the battery is below 80%.
Colour has a small effect. Some limited Pixel colours (Hazel, Bay, Porcelain) attract a small premium from buyers who specifically want them.
Network lock — most Pixels sold in the UK are unlocked, but if yours is locked to a specific network it will reduce the value slightly.
Google typically announces new Pixel phones in October. Values for the outgoing model drop noticeably from the announcement date, not just the release date — once people know a new model is coming, demand for the old one softens immediately.
Sell before October if you are planning to upgrade. The window between September and the announcement is when Pixel resale values are at their strongest.
Pixel devices are not carried by every UK recycler — some focus exclusively on iPhone and Samsung. This makes comparing prices even more important for Pixel owners, as the range between the best and worst offer can be significant.
