June 2026
Samsung is the UK's most popular Android brand — and millions of used Galaxy phones change hands every year. But recycler prices for Samsung devices vary significantly depending on the model, condition, and where you sell.
This guide covers what to expect for every major Samsung range and how to make sure you get the best price.
The Galaxy S range holds its value reasonably well compared to budget Android phones, but not as well as equivalent iPhones. Flagship Samsung models depreciate faster than Apple in the first 12 months.
Galaxy S25 series (2025)
Still close to retail value. If you bought one and want to upgrade, sell sooner rather than later — Samsung launch events push prices up temporarily before they settle lower.
Galaxy S24 series (2024)
The most traded Samsung model right now. Excellent condition S24 Ultra fetches £400–£550 from UK recyclers. Standard S24 in good condition sits at £200–£280.
Galaxy S23 series (2023)
A popular mid-tier resale option. S23 Ultra in excellent condition: £280–£380. Standard S23: £130–£180.
Galaxy S22 series (2022)
Values have settled. S22 Ultra excellent: £180–£260. Standard S22: £80–£120.
Galaxy S21 and older
Below £100 for most models in good condition. S21 Ultra in excellent condition may reach £120–£150 from the best-paying recyclers.
The A series depreciates faster than the S range. Most A series phones are worth £30–£100 depending on age and model.
Foldables hold value better than standard Samsung models, largely because the market is smaller and second-hand demand is strong.
Condition is the biggest factor. A cracked screen typically cuts the value by 40–60%.
Storage size adds value on flagship models. A 256GB S24 Ultra is worth meaningfully more than a 128GB equivalent.
Network lock reduces value. An unlocked Samsung is worth more than a network-locked one.
Original box and accessories rarely add much — most recyclers only care about the phone itself.
The Galaxy S range typically launches in January/February, and the Galaxy Z foldables in August. Prices dip noticeably in the weeks after a new launch.
Sell before the next launch announcement for the best price.
Prices for the same phone in the same condition can vary by £30–£80 depending on the recycler. Always compare before you commit.
